Yonggari Chicken to Vietnamese Tables… Harim Expands Export Routes for Processed Chicken Products
First shipment to Hanoi of 3 types of nuggets made with domestic chicken

Harim is entering the Vietnamese market with its Yonggari Chicken and chicken nuggets. The company plans to supply frozen processed products made from domestic chicken to local retailers and the food service industry, aiming to expand the scope of processed chicken exports beyond its previous focus on Samgyetang.
On the 21st, Harim held the ‘First Export Shipment Ceremony for K-Chicken Processed Products to Vietnam’ at its Smart Factory in Iksan, Jeonbuk. The event was attended by Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-ryeong, Harim CEO Jeong Ho-seok, Iksan Mayor Choi Jeong-ho, and other officials from the government, local government, and industry.
The first three export products are ‘Yonggari Chicken,’ ‘Harim Chicken Nuggets,’ and ‘Whole Breast Chicken Nuggets.’ All use 100% domestic chicken ingredients and will be supplied to the Hanoi region of Vietnam. Harim plans to target young adults and family consumers as its main customers and expand its sales channels to major local distribution networks such as WinMart and GO!, as well as the business-to-business (B2B) food service market.
This shipment is a follow-up achievement resulting from the conclusion of quarantine and sanitation negotiations on heat-treated poultry meat following the Korea-Vietnam summit last April. After the intergovernmental negotiations, preparations such as approval of export facilities, local product registration, and securing distribution networks continued, leading to the first shipment approximately six months later.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Harim plans to export an initial shipment of about 2 tons within the year and supply a total of about 70 tons of processed chicken products worth about 700 million won to Vietnam by next year.
This export is also significant in that it expands overseas sales channels for domestic processed chicken products to include convenient frozen items. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced that as export items diversified from being centered on Samgyetang to include nuggets and Dakgangjeong, the export value of processed chicken products reached 24.8 billion won as of August this year, a 39.5% increase compared to the previous year. Entry into Vietnam is expected to serve as an opportunity to add a new sales market to this product lineup expansion.
CEO Jeong Ho-seok stated that the government's trade and quarantine support served as the foundation for this export, and expressed his intention to expand the market through hygiene management and localized sales strategies, while also contributing to increasing the income of domestic broiler farms.
The government is also stepping up to provide follow-up support. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to support the expansion of export processing facilities and local marketing to increase exports of processed chicken products to Southeast Asia. In addition, based on the Korea-Vietnam quarantine cooperation agreement, it plans to accelerate ongoing export negotiations for products such as Hanwoo beef and heat-treated pork.
