The Meeting of Korean Pork and Domestic Chestnuts… ‘Ok-Jubu’ Jung Jong-cheol Unveils 3 Dishes for Coexistence
Filming content with Lee Ki-hong, Chairman of the Korea Pork Self-Sufficiency Fund, and ‘Housekeeping King Ok-joo-bu’

The Korea Pork Self-Funding Management Committee has launched an initiative to promote the consumption of domestic chestnut farms through cooking content that combines Korean chestnuts and pork. The aim is to encourage the joint consumption of both ingredients by introducing recipes that incorporate chestnuts into various cuts of Korean pork.
The Korea Pork Self-Funding Committee announced on the 6th that it filmed special cooking content titled ‘Han-don x Our Chestnuts’ on November 5th with comedian Jung Jong-chul, an honorary ambassador for Han-don, and Chairman Lee Ki-hong. This filming was arranged as part of the win-win campaign to promote the consumption of domestic chestnuts, which was announced on the 3rd.
This content, produced to support chestnut farmers struggling with sluggish consumption and falling prices, was created under the theme "Our Korean Pork Stands with Our Chestnuts." The footage is scheduled to be released later on Jung Jong-chul's YouTube channel, "Housekeeping King Ok-Jubu."
From braised short ribs to salads… Enjoying Korean pork at night
The three dishes introduced in this content are braised pork ribs, pork neck salad, and boiled pork jowl. From familiar home-style dishes to salads with unique combinations, the focus was on highlighting the distinct characteristics of each cut of Korean pork along with the flavor of chestnuts.

Jeong Jong-cheol presented recipes that can be followed at home and cooking know-how for everyday life. Chairman Lee Ki-hong also tasted the dishes himself and introduced the combination of Korean pork and domestic chestnuts.

Mutual growth among farms leads to joint consumption
The filming also covered the bond that pigs and chestnuts have formed in the agricultural field. According to the Korea Pork Self-Help Fund, the two shared an anecdote about how the chestnut tree cultivation and pig farming business at Yongin Natural Farm (now Everland) were connected in the past through the supply of compost. This signifies that just as pig farming helped chestnut tree cultivation in the past, this time, support is being provided to chestnut farmers through the joint consumption of Korean pork and chestnuts.
The Korea Pork Self-Help Fund has previously conducted consumption promotion activities to support crop farmers, such as those producing honey and domestic onions. This time, they plan to expand their scope to include chestnut farmers to encourage the simultaneous consumption of domestic agricultural and livestock products.
Chairman Lee Ki-hong stated that he organized this campaign to introduce various dishes using Korean pork and domestic chestnuts to consumers, and to offer support to struggling chestnut farmers as a fellow farmer. He added that he hopes the consumption of domestic agricultural and livestock products will expand through ways to enjoy these two ingredients together.

The Korea Pork Self-Help Fund plans to continue activities aimed at expanding the consumption of domestic agricultural and livestock products centered on Korean pork, and practicing mutual growth among farmers.
