3,000 Participants in ‘2026 Handon Run’… A Day Where Running and Handon Met

The ‘2026 Handon Run,’ held at the Hanam Misari Regatta Park in Gyeonggi Province on September 20, concluded with approximately 3,000 participants.
Organized by the Korea Pork Self-Sufficiency Fund Management Committee, this event was designed to connect the value of running as a "healthy daily life" with Korean pork, the "national food ingredient," allowing consumers to directly experience the taste and value of Korean pork alongside exercise. A key feature is that participants can enjoy both exercise and dietary habits by tasting Korean pork lunch boxes after their run.
This year's competition featured two events: 6km and 10km. A diverse range of age groups, from professional runners to participants in groups of family, friends, and colleagues, visited Misa Regatta Park.

The participants gathered at the starting line finished their warm-up exercises and ran their respective courses, followed by cheers and applause around the finish line.
A ‘Korean pork meal’ awaited after finishing the race
Participants who finished the race were provided with a finisher medal and a free medal engraving service.
In particular, after completing the race, a Han-don lunch box consisting of a Han-don tteokgalbi burger, Han-don lard rice balls, and Han-don gangjeong was provided. Designed to replenish protein and energy with Han-don after the run, the lunch box served as a program for participants to taste and enjoy Han-don firsthand.

Honorary ambassadors for Korean pork also attended the event. Ahn Jung-yong, President of the Jeongeup City Athletics Federation and Vice President of the Korea Pork Association, along with broadcaster Jung Jong-chul, singer Kim Yong-pil, General Director Lee Jung-woong of Halla Foods, and Chef Tommy Lee of ‘French Papa,’ cheered on the participants and took part in the main programs.
A participatory event to run, eat, and have fun
In addition to running, various participatory programs were prepared for this year's Handon Run. The 'Samgyeopsal Song Challenge,' roulette events, temporary tattoo sticker experiences, photo booths, and sponsor tasting and experience booths were operated.
Eleven sponsors, including Nongshim, Blumetz, Binggrae, Seoul Milk, Starbucks, Thermos, CY Prolad, I-Pork, EX Healthcare, Teazen, and Harutin, also participated and provided products and various experience opportunities.

He added, “Going forward, we will continue to promote the value of Korean pork through various online and offline touchpoints close to consumers’ daily lives and expand opportunities for consumers to experience Korean pork in a friendly manner.”

At the awards ceremony, Handon Mall gift certificates and prizes were presented to a total of 12 winners, including the top three male and female finishers in the 6km and 10km courses. Stage events such as ‘Find the Samgyeopsal Finisher,’ Best Dressed, and a special raffle also took place.
